Joe Hachem Completes Endorsement Deal With Poker Stars

Joe Hachem, the 2005 World Series of Poker champion, who beat a record field and scooped the Main Event first prize of $7.5 million, has signed on with PokerStars. It was well known in the online poker industry that a number of poker rooms were interested in signing Joseph Hachem to an endorsement deal. They had a shot because Hachem actually paid the $10,000 entry fee out of his own pocket, and was not previously linked to any online poker room.

It comes as no surprise that PokerStars made the best offer to Hachem, since they have the most to gain by continuing their successful association with recent world series of poker main event winners. Both Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer won their seats by qualifying online at PokerStars, and now Joe Hachem will complete the trifecta as it were. Hachem is said to have played "thousands of hands on PokerStars" so it is a natural move for the online poke room to sign him to a deal. We at OPI have also played thousands of hands on PokerStars, but as yet that phone call from Team PokerStars has not been made. An oversight, surely.

Joe Hachem was a semi-professional poker player prior to winning the WSOP championship, and he claims that he went to the event in Las Vegas because a fellow Australian won a seat to play in the main event, and his friend won this seat at...PokerStars, so you see, there is a deep and binding connection between Joe Hachem and PokerStars.

Hachem ended up playing in the first event at the World Series Of Poker, the $1000 no-limit tournament. He cashed and ultimately won $28,000. This prompted him to stick around and enter the big one, and a few weeks later this former chiropractor from Lebanon, who has four children (as opposed to Moneymaker and Raymer who just look like they're expecting), was showered with instant fame and fortune.
