John Juanda - Poker Legend
|
One of the undisputed rising stars of tournament poker is John Juanda, a 33-year old former door-to-door bible salesman who originally hails from Indonesia. Juanda, is fast becoming one of the most recongizable faces in professional poker because of his fantastic recent results in high-profile poker events.
John Juanda, whose name is commonly spelled incorrectly as Juwanda, is one of the top poker pros who endorses Full Tilt Poker, and he plays online poker exclusively at this rapidly growing site. Other big names who play there include Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson.
Juanda only moved to the United States in 1990 to attend university. He ultimately earned an MBA from Seattle University, and was a noted track athlete at college. He is interested in pursuing a career in medicine one day, but for now that seems doubtful because playing poker at the highest level has proved so lucrative.
John Juanda has numerous final table appearances on the World Poker Tour to his credit, and also went deep at this year's World Series Of Poker main event. Recently, he finished runner-up to Ivey in an invitational no-limit hold'em tournament in Monte Carlo that was sponsored by Full Tilt Poker.
