November 27 - There are a few female poker players that can play at the highest level of the game and one of them is undoubtedly Kathy Liebert. Liebert is a female poker legend and we profile her rise to fame in this well-rounded bio.
Liebert made a big splash in the poker world when she won the first Party Poker Million, taking home the $1 million first prize purse. You remember Party Poker? They used to be the world's biggest online poker site before they folded meekly in the face of some typical USA sabre-rattling.
Kathy Liebert has enjoyed a lot of success in poker tournaments, mainly no-limit hold'em events. Liebert has a degree in BS (don't all poker players?) with a major in business and finance. If she wasn't playing high-stakes poker chances are she would be a trader in the stock market.
She has plenty of excellent results in poker including a World Series of Poker win in the 2004 Limit Hold'em Shootout. She also won the Omaha HiLo event at the 2003 Poker Derby, and has finished second in another WSOP event.
Liebert regularly appears on the Poker SuperStars tournament that is televised on Fox, and is a familiar face to most fans of the game. She does not enjoy the same level of respect as a Jennifer Harman, but perhaps that has played to her advantage as her results speak volumes for her ability.
