|
January 15 - This weekend poker pro and representative of top online poker room Full Tilt Poker, Erick Lindgren won the 2007 Aussie Millions $100 000 buy-in poker tournament and lucrative $1 million first prize.
Hosted this weekend at the well-known Crown Casino in Melbourne, American-born Lindgren began play with a $100 000 stack and took just twelve hours to
dispatch the other top-rated poker players to clinch victory.
The 2007 Aussie Millions $100 000 buy-in poker tournament saw eighteen of the
world's best and most successful poker pros each handover the hefty $100k entry
fee to compete for the lucrative $1 million first prize.
Entrants included poker heavyweights Erik Seidel (another Full Tilt Poker
representative), David Benyamine, Tony G, John Juanda, Daniel Negreanu,
Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen who competed in the pot-limit pre-flop/no-limit post-flop Texas Hold'em poker tournament.
However, when all was said and done, the heads up match came down to
Full Tilt Poker team mates Lindgren and Seidel, with the former managing to hold on for the win. Seidel received the second place check for $550 000.
The Aussie Millions $100 000 buy-in event was well attended and the perfect
build-up for the 2007 Aussie Millions main event which kicked off yesterday and concludes today.
