Lucky Player Hits Bad Beat Jackpot at Absolute Poker

June 9 - No poker jackpot seems to stimulate more interest than Absolute Poker's lucrative Bad Beat Jackpot, whereby players are actually awarded a huge prize for losing a hand that is clearly favored to win.

In recent days, online poker fans watched the goings on at Absolute Poker with much interest as the Bad Beat Jackpot climbed past the $700,000 and started nearing the $750,000 mark.

Finally, on June 5th, one lucky player, BUDYLOVE, a player from Atlanta, Georgia, lost her Texas Hold 'em game at the site with four nines to a king-high straight flush. As a result of her loss, and because she was seated at Bad Beat Jackpot table, BUDYLOVE became the winner of a cool $246,362. The winner of the pot, MAMEDURI, claimed $131,126 of the jackpot, and the other participants at the table split a further $100,000.

Because of the high total of the Bad Beat Jackpot, an impressive $185,435 was put towards the next jackpot. This total has already reached way past $200,000.

BUDYLOVE's win was the second highest Bad Beat Jackpot to be won at Absolute Poker. The highest prize was awarded to KADI, an Australian online poker player who lost a ten high straight flush to a king high straight flush in August of last year. KADI's jackpot was a whopping $821,670 - a record that has yet to be broken at Absolute Poker.

Absolute Poker's Bad Beat Jackpot has become one of the most popular progressives in the industry. It requires that players make a mere 0.50 deposit on any qualifying hands, and the jackpot continues to grow until a lucky player loses to a bad beat.

We recommend playing online poker at a safe and reputable site like Poker Stars.
