Men The Master Nguyen Named 2005 Card Player Of The Year
Bodog Poker sponsored Card Player's Player Of The Year award for 2005, and this year the winner was the charismatic Men "The Master" Nguyen, who was a ubiquitous presence at major poker tournament final tables all year long. He edged out John Phan for the award while Allen Cunninghan and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi were also Top Five finishers for the award.
Men Nguyen will win a free entry into the 2006 World Series Of Poker main event courtesy of Bodog.com, who are heavily promoting their new poker room. The Master really has no need for another $10,000 poker seat entry fee but the award is taken very seriously by poker pros as a measure of success. No one can deny that Men was incredibly consistent this year, playing at a high level week after week, which was reflected by his brilliant results.
