Model Endorses New Online Poker Room. World Yawns.
Cindy Margolis, a vapid model best known for self-promotion, infomercials, and an Internet institution for many years, has opened her "own" online poker room and cleverly called it CindysPoker.com.
The poker software used for the site was developed by Full House Entertainment, which was also behind TouchstonePoker.com another new online poker room that also launched this week.
CindysPoker.com is offering some interesting initial promotions including the chance for one lucky poker player to win a trip to Los Angeles where they will meet Margolis and hang out with her VIP pals. One can only wonder who those people are since Margolis is an extremely minor celebrity in her own right, roughly as famous as the kid who played Chip on Kate & Allie.
The surfeit of new online poker rooms should be viewed with extreme caution by players. It is fine to play at a new poker room like Bodog.com Poker for example, since that company has been around for a long time and your money is safe there. Depositing your bankroll inside CindysPoker might sound like a lot of fun (depending on how filthy your mind is of course) but the bottom line is that a lot of these new enterprises will fly by night and be gone in the morning...fair warning.
