September 19 - If you lost out in the action of the first two installments of the exciting European Championship of Online Poker hosted by the online poker room, Titan Poker, it is not too late to grab some of the great prize money up for grabs in this tournament.
Titan Poker announced this week that the third ECOOP installment will be run in November, with many more chances of winning thanks to 14 days of non stop poker action and a guaranteed prize pool totaling a whopping $4.15 million.
A spokesperson for Titan Poker said: "We extended the tournament period to fourteen days to allow more time for our talented Titan Poker players to showcase their skill and play for the sensational reward on offer."
The ECOOP event has come to be known as one of the most lucrative tournaments in the industry. Launched in December 2007, the first event came with a guaranteed prize pool of 'only' $2.5 million, with the first winner taking home $220,000 for his efforts.
As competition in the online poker industry increases among rival sites, we are beginning to see guaranteed prize pools growing larger and larger with every event. Many smaller sites, or those that cannot serve the US poker playing market such as Party Gaming, are having trouble keeping up with this gigantic prize pools, leading to poor financial reports.
The second ECOOP event took place in May this year, with a guaranteed prize pool of $3.6 million (over $1 million more than the December inaugural event) and extended over 10 days. The first place winner, jeanss89, walked away with $315,000.
The November ECOOP tournament is definitely one poker date to mark down in your gaming calendar!
