Online Poker Championship Starts On Friday - 09-13-07

September 13 - The WCOOP, known to those to whom the know is a foreign country as the "World Championship Of Online Poker" will start at Poker Stars, the world's biggest online poker website, on Friday September 14.
There will be 23 events with $15 million in guaranteed prize money at this year's WCOOP, but trust me on this, more money will be up for grabs as Stars figures to oversubscribe for every one of these bad boys.
I'll be playing in select events - namely those where the buy-ins are not astronomical + I understand the rules of the game in question. So cheap Omaha and Hold'em tournaments with no rebuys look out, because I am due for a major win.
In years gone by I fed my fictitious children (does no one abort anymore? Jeez, talk about feeling left out of a crowd) on filet mignon from my online poker winnings. But 2007 has been a barren year and the family meal has consisted of double helpings of humble pie. But that has to change - law of averages, people. I am going to win one of these WCOOP events, if only for the bracelet.
I'm kidding. I couldn't give a damn about the bracelet, I need the cash to pay my creditors. Those people tired of chasing Matusow? That's right, now they want a piece of this guy.
I am going to play in the first two events (that I care about) over the weekend, the NL Hold'em (6-max) with a buy-in of $215 and a guaranteed minimum of $400,000 followed by the PL Omaha (6-max) with a guarantee of $200,000. See you there...
