In a rags to riches story that is only possible in the brave new world of online poker a 22-year old student from Canada turned his $102 buy-in for a satellite tournament into a $1.3 Million first prize. Steve Paul-Ambrose also won a $25,000 seat at the World Poker Tour Championship event, which will be held later this year at the Bellagio.
Ambrose has little experience playing poker, which is par for the course when it comes to online poker players who wash up in exotic locations and scoop massive prize pools. This time it happened at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, and the event in question was the Caribbean Adventure.
There are numerous opportunities at online poker rooms to qualify for every major poker tournament held in every corner of the globe as the poker phenomenon continues to grow.
