The Party Gaming share price is set to continue it's rapid rise in 2006 following PartyPoker's record fourth quarter results. The online poker giant reported 229,227 new sign ups, as well as a staggering increase in the average number of players online.
Overall revenue went up by 65% for the three month period between September and December 2005. That increase is partially attributed to the fact that PartyPoker players can now play blackjack on the website. The general player who uses this site tends not to be dedicated to poker (they get a lot of new players looking for an entertaining way to spend a few bucks as opposed to die-hard poker pros) so it makes sense that 44% of all their poker players have used the blackjack feature since it went live.
The daily average number of players on the site is truly remarkable - up to over 140,000 now. In 2004 that number was 77,000, which in itself puts every other poker site and indeed poker network to shame. The issue of player volume that is such a thorn in the side for most online poker rooms is clearly a non-issue for Party Poker.
