4 - Top poker pro, Phil Hellmuth, made poker history last week when he
became the first poker player to attain 50 'in-the-money' finishes in the World
Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament.
When he placed 67th out of a massive 2776 entries in the $1500 buy-in No-Limit
Hold'Em event last week, Hellmuth pipped his long-time poker rivals Men 'The
Master' Nguyen and Berry Johnston, who are sitting on 49 cashes each.
Not only did Phil Hellmuth win the 1989 World Series of Poker Main Event,
but has won himself nine gold bracelets during an illustrious and
lucrative 17-year poker career that has seen him become a fixture and icon of
the poker world.
Interestingly, all of Phil's WSOP victories are from the game of Texas Hold'em,
the most of any player including the greats like Doyle Brunson and Amarillo
Slim.
Current rankings for most WSOP cashes are:
Phil Hellmuth - 50
Berry Johnston - 49
Men 'The Master' Nguyen - 49
T.J. Cloutier - 47
Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson - 43
Erik Seidel - 40
Brent Carter - 40
An Tran - 39
Mike Sexton - 38
Ken Flaton - 38
