Poker Pack Heads to Aussie Millions
|
January 21 - The poker world is enjoying lots of action this week as the action at the 2009 Aussie Millions tournament heats up Down Under.
Some of the top names in the industry have come from all over the globe to converge on Melbourne and take part in non stop poker action the reaches its peak in the coming days.
One group that is earning itself special attention is the APT Poker Pack, a select group of top quality, highly professional players representing the Asian Poker Tour.
The APT Poker Pack is made up of players of Asian origin, whether they live in the region or not. Popular players who are representing this team include David 'Chino' Rheem, from Los Angeles California, a relatively unknown player who crashed into world recognition after making the final table of the World Series of Poker event last year and becoming one of the famous November Nine.
Another player who is sure to turn heads in Melbourne is JC Tran, who has appeared at the final tables of several WSOP and World Poker Tour events. Tran won his first WSOP bracelet in 2008 and has earned over $4 million in prize money since he first launched his career in 2004.
The only true Asian-based player to make up the APT Poker Pack is Kwang Soo Lee, who finished third in the Asian Poker Tour Manila event in 2008, and who lives in South Korea.
The Chief Executive Officer of AsianLogic, the company that owns the Asian Poker Tour, Tom Hall said: "We're absolutely delighted to have the Poker Pack represent us at the prestigious Aussie Millions. They are very much looking forward to playing in Melbourne."
