Poker Pro Wears Costumes to WSOP Main Event
|
August 1 - Well-known poker pro, Joe Sebok, son of legendary poker ace, Barry
Greenstein, has made a colorful splash at the 2006 WSOP Main Event by
arriving each day dressed in different costumes.
For instance, on the first day of the WSOP Main Event, Sebok showed up as Robin,
Batman's famous sidekick. On the second day, the up-and-coming poker star
arrived dressed as a 'bear cub in a diaper'.
The third day saw Sebok preside over his table as Spiderman.
As the story goes, Sebok has taken to 'dressing up' for the WSOP Main Event on account of losing a
prop bet to fellow poker pro, Gavin Smith.
Joe Sebok attended college at Berkeley, graduated and got into the '.com'
business and then turned his attention to poker where, like his father, he showed a
natural aptitude for the game.
At last year's World Series of Poker, Sebok made it to two final tables and looks
like he may go even further at this year's WSOP Main Event.
Gavin Smith was quoted as saying that he was willing to let Sebok off the hook
if he makes it to the Main Event final table.
