Poker Stars Releases WCOOP Schedule
|
July 9 - Poker Star professionals and players alike are counting down to the official opening of the 8th World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), hosted by Poker Stars online poker room.
Poker Stars announced this week the schedule for the 2009 WCOOP, which promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
This year's event will run from September 3rd to 21st and will be rewarding players an incredible $40 million in prizes.
"The WCOOP is my favorite event - anyone can play at any time, anywhere with tournaments running throughout the day," said Vanessa Rousso, a Team PokerStars Pro member. "For millions of players, it's the ultimate poker championship and everyone has the chance to become a World Champions!"
A total of 45 events are scheduled for this year's tournament, with practically every type of poker game represented, ranging from Pot Limit Omaha to Seven Card Stud.
Poker Stars has also promised to add some new games, including Badugi and a Pot Limit Omaha Heads Up Event.
Details of opening and closing events at this year's WCOOP tournament are as follows:
Event No. 1, Thursday September 3, $215 buy in, No Limit Hold 'em (six max) = $1,250,000 guarantee.
Event No. 45, Sunday September 20, $5,200 buy in, No Limit Hold'em 2 Day Main Event = $10 m guaranteed.
