Poker TV Channel Relaunches Website
|
October 16 - The Poker Channel, an initiative that sprung up in Europe in 2005 in a bid to cover the local poker scene better, has become one of the most sought after poker offerings in the industry.
This Channel, which used to run on the Sky Broadcasting Network, announced that it is re-launching its popular online website on the Brightcove online video platform, effective immediately.
It is believed that the new poker website will become one of the most visited out there, especially if the Poker Channel goes ahead with some of the exciting plans that it has on the drawing board. It is believed that the website will feature major tournament coverage from top events around the world, such as the World Series of Poker. The site will also run regular interview with top poker stars and include strategy and news articles.
Other future plans include increased exposure to tournaments, localized poker coverage aimed at selected audiences and video clips from other major events.
The Poker Channel, which boasts millions of viewers from around Europe, regularly airs major events, such as the European Poker Masters and the British Poker Open. This year, it added even more tournaments that were aired to excited viewers, including the Million Dollar Cash Game played out among some of the top professionals in the poker world.
The Vice President for Partner Development at Brightcove, Raghav Gupta said about the new deal: "The Poker Channel has become a key destination for fans, whether beginners or seasoned professionals.
