PokerShare Chimp Gets WSOP Bracelet
|
 August 4 - While large poker tournaments are never without their fair share of
animals - there are always plenty of 'sharks' and 'fish' - the 2006 World Series of
Poker (WSOP) had the pleasure of welcoming Mikey, the world's first WSOP
chimp contender.
Through his winning smile and trendy
PokerShare.com T-shirt, Mikey won not only the hearts and minds of all those
fortunate enough to meet him, but also got a highly coveted 2006 WSOP bracelet.
Mikey came to be in Las Vegas during the World Series of Poker thanks to leading
online poker room, PokerShare.com. The online poker room created a media frenzy
when it said that it had entered the young banana lover into the 2006 WSOP.
Forget the usual celebrities - Mike Tyson, Pamela Anderson, Shannon Elizabeth -
it was Mikey all the way, with the crowds fighting to get a glimpse of the cute
little guy who turned the 'city that never sleeps' into his personal jungle gym.
Mikey received his highly-prized 2006 WSOP bracelet at a huge party
thrown by Bluff Magazine, where he was not only the life of the party but showed
the gathered guests what it takes to be the best 'party animal' you can be.
While this reporter left the party early, he heard rumours that later in the
evening there was a little 'bluffing' and 'calling' and a lot or 'raising' going
on in a nearby jacuzzi, involving a blonde actress and a hairy little guy
dripping in gold. (It was unclear if the guy was Mikey or a Hollywood exec).
