PokerStars bans Online Poker Player from Site
|
January 2 - One of the world's most popular online poker rooms, PokerStars, has
permanently banned a young online poker player from its website for holding
multiple accounts at the poker room, a practice frowned upon by the online
gambling community.
The player, 18-year-old Josh Field, known in the poker room as 'JJProdigy', who
qualified online to play in the lucrative land casino event, PokerStars
Caribbean Adventure which kicks off on Saturday this week, has had his poker
wings clipped for good.
Even though Field issued an apology on various well-known online poker forums
last week for multi-accounting, PokerStars management took a decision to kick
him off the website as well as prevent him from playing in any further live
poker events, including the Caribbean Adventure.
Once news of Field's transgressions became public, many online poker players
from all over the world put added pressure on PokerStars to ban the player,
which is a clear indication that the online poker fraternity has a 'zero
tolerance' attitude towards unscrupulous online poker players and cheats.
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure will take place at the luxurious Atlantis
casino and resort in the Bahamas from January 5th to 10th 2008, with millions of
dollars in cash prizes to play for.
