Pro Poker Bot Site Runs Competition

June 22 - The controversial issue of using pokerbots to play online poker has come up again, after an amateur website launched a new competition.
The one-man-site, PokerbotBasics.com, has invited all Texas Hold 'em sites to contact it in order to take part in an interesting survey that will determine which online poker room is the most pokerbot-friendly site available out there.
Registered users at the site will then review all the sites and vote on what they find to be the site that is the most tolerant of pokerbot players.
Pokerbots are programs that allow online poker players to play automatically at sites, greatly increasing their chances of winning.
The majority of online poker sites do not approve of these programs, and many have declared them illegal in their poker rooms.
PokerbotBasics wants to see more online poker sites become more tolerant of bot users and allow players to declare that they are using these programs and play poker around a table with other, 'human' players.
The site that is awarded the most votes by PokerbotBasics users will be given a prize of $10K at the end of the year.
"There is a lot of opportunity for the poker sites that view the proliferation of pokerbots for what it is - an emerging market," said the owner of the pro-bots site, Rob Turner. "Pokerbots play hands faster, stay at tables longer, and can play at more tables at one time. This contest will not only allow pokerbots to sit at a table like everyone else, but will give players who have wanted to knowingly play against a pokerbot the chance they've been looking for. This is going to be a big win for participating poker sites."
