February 4 - For the second year running, an Australian has won the Aussie
Millions Poker tournament which has become one of the most exciting events on
the calendar.
Twenty three year old university student, Tyron Krost beat a particularly
powerful final table to take home the title, as well as a cash prize of $2
million.
Krost met eight other finishers at the final table - out of a field of 746
players.
These included: Frederik Jensen, Sorel Mizzi, Kosta Varoxis, Peter Jetten,
Steve Friedlander, Annette Obrestad and Stephen Shelly.
Other top pros were ousted in the earlier rounds of the competition, such as

table with a huge chip advantage - five times that of his next rival.
Annette Obrestad, another favorite, was disappointed with her seventh place
win.
Krost entered one of the qualifiers at
Party Poker which eventually
won him a place in the competition.
"In total, I spent $700 trying to qualify for a package and I have managed to
turn that into $2 million!" said Krost.
Another player who entered the competition on a qualifying package was
Frederik Jensen, who come in second, winning himself $981,000.
