The Top Five New Online Poker Rooms
|
Author: Marc Weinberg
It seems as though a new online poker room launches on a daily basis. Some of them grab your attention with massive sign-up bonus offers while others have famous spokesmen. I've played at most of them and here is my list of the five best new online poker rooms.
Number 5: CD Poker
CD Poker has been around for two years but they're part of a huge online casino group so they have a lot of industry experience. I enjoy playing here because I'm a results-oriented player and my results here have been strong. This has less to do with my brilliance (highly disputable) and everything to do with my opponents' inexperience and lack of poker knowledge (indisuptable). There are other poker rooms that have risen up with catchier promotions and better offers but this site definitely makes the list.
Number 4: Hollywood Poker
I've played at Pokerroom.com for years and love their software and game selection. You can run into some very talented players here especially at the highest stakes levels, but the site is so slick and user-friendly that it doesn't matter. Hollywood Poker is a skin for the same room and they have great sign-up bonuses, so why not just play through them? That's what I've been doing and it works out great. The biggest concern I have is with their customer service department - I had an issue that took a long time to resolve. To their credit they did resolve it eventually, but only after toys were thrown. Still, those bonuses make it all worthwhile.
Number 3: Bodog.com Poker
It's not simply poker baby it's a lifestyle - granted it's a pretentious, superficial lifestyle epitomized by blacking out in Las Vegas after a three-day bender of gambling and substance abuse, but hey, it's still a lifestyle and no one represents quite like Bodog. Their poker room is going places, and it feels good knowing that the opponents you're crushing are cheeseballs seduced by the billionaire-playboy approach to life.
Number 2: Full Tilt Poker
Very good guaranteed tournaments, high player volume, and software that plays like a version 2.0 of Poker Stars, that is if Poker Stars every cared enough to upgrade. All those "celebrity" poker professionals can't be wrong, and it turns out that the Full Tilt experience is a very good one. They are well on their way to becoming a very big player in the online poker industry and it makes a lot of sense to have an account there.
Number 1: PokerShare
This is my favorite new online poker room. They're "new" in the sense that they have relaunched but they still have the same great concept: players own a share of the company, and the customer service in general is exceptional. They value my business and that means a lot to me. The player volume is very good, with a high percentage playing for real money, and some huge money games on offer. There are a lot of loose, aggressive players on the site, and it's a thrill ride to play there. Plus they offer top-class sign up bonuses and their qualifiers and satelilite tournaments offer the best value for money in town. You must try it and see what you're missing.
