Titan Poker Poker Player Wins Thousands at Irish Winter Festival

Titan pokerNovember 1 - The second place winner in the popular Irish Winter Festival poker tournament, Chris Woods, proves that some of us are just born naturals at the game. Woods shot to near-victory during the recent tournament, after winning his place through an online satellite event at Titan Poker. What makes Woods' story all that more amazing is that before August of this year, he didn't even know the rules of poker!

Chris Woods decided to try his hand at online poker by signing up with Titan Poker and taking advantage of the site's excellent PokerProfessor tutorial lessons. Woods proved to be such a good student that he won a $50 PokerProfessor quiz bonus and used just over half that money to enter a qualifier for the Irish Winter Festival land poker tournament.

From then on, Woods' path to victory can only be described as meteoric. On the very same day that he entered the online satellite tournament at Titan Poker, he won the Irish Winter Festival Super Satellite and found himself with a prize package valued at $4,500 that would take him directly to the event.

Representing Titan Poker in Dublin was a dream come true for Chris Woods, especially as he has not - to date - invested one dollar of his own money into his online poker account! To top it all off, Woods walked away with 106,000 Euros in prize money.

When asked how he managed to bring down several poker greats, including Andy Black and Marty Smith, Woods said: "I avoided tangling with the other big stacks unless I felt I was drawing to the nuts or had the nuts. I also used my big stack well against the smaller stacks when in position, forcing the pressure on them for the rest of the tournament."

Woods was one of fifteen online players representing Titan Poker at the Dublin event. This Playtech-powered site is one of the most lucrative around, offering players lots of opportunities to qualify for top tournaments around the globe.
