October 14 - Not ones to doing anything half heartedly, the popular online
poker site, PokerStars has announced that the prize pool for its
Caribbean Adventure poker tournament will reach a dizzying $14.5 million.
The tournament is due to take part in the Bahamas on January 4th and already
players are gearing up for the action at one of the most stunning locations on
this earth.
This is the seventh year that the Caribbean Adventure is being held and
players will be able to enjoy ten days of non stop action in over fifty
different events.
So popular is the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure that it is considered the
biggest live tournament outside of Vegas.
The winner of the 2008 Main Event, Bertrand Grospellier said about the
tournament: "The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is definitely one of my
favourite tournaments of the year. This is where I had my first and biggest win
to date, when I won the High Roller event. I love going to the Bahamas for the
PCA!"
"The location and the organization are great," continued Grospellier, himself
a member of Team PokerStars Pro, "and I believe the competition is probably the
toughest you can find in any live tournament, with all the internet pros and the
best live players. I am really looking forward to playing the 2010 PCA!"
Nearly 1350 entered the Main Event of last year's tournament, with over half
of them earning their seats at PokerStars.
This year's buy in for the Main Event is a whopping $10K + $300 to create the
staggering $14.5 million prize pool.
