August 15 - The saying 'good things come in pairs' certainly rang true this
week at the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) when top tournament
player, Yuval Bronshtein managed to grab two titles in one night, bringing his
total FTOPS titles to three overall.
Playing with his regular professional online poker name, yuvee04, Bronshtein,
who hails from Atlanta in the United States, began his victory streak by
entering event number 14, a H.O.R.S.E tournament with a $500 buy in that
attracted the likes of professional greats such as Brian Devonshire and Chris
Moorman.
Yuval Bronshtein did exceptionally well at the H.O.R.S.E event and
certainly allowed his mixed game skills to shine through in the final two
tables. He finally managed to win the whole event and pocketed $70,413 for his
efforts.
While most players would be satisfied with this type of win in a single
evening, Bronshtein decided to try his luck in another FTOPS event that very
same night.
He entered the $200 buy in no limit hold 'em turbo tournament, event number
15 in the FTOPS, and took on a record 2472 players. Once again, Bronshtein's
tournament brilliance shined through and he managed to maneuver himself up the
ranks to a final table that included great players such as Mark Newhouse. This
time, Bronshtein's victory was even sweeter - allowing him to take home $101,975
for his event 15 win.
These two wins bring to three the total number of FTOPS titles held by Yuval
Bronshtein - the highest number of titles held by a single player since this
lucrative tournament was launched two years ago.
In 2007, Bronshtein won the $100 seven card stud eight or better tournament
in the FTOPS event number six. His prize was $17,000.
Bronshtein is no stranger to land-based poker tournaments either. He has made
final table appearances at the World Series of Poker and the World Series of
Poker Europe events in the past.
