Two Sites Dropped from iPoker Network
|
December 29 - One of the largest collection of poker rooms in the world, comprising around 80 skins, has announced that will be dropping two poker sites from its network in the coming new year.
iPoker Network issued a statement on December 26th, stating that two online poker rooms - Carlos Poker and NoIQ Poker - would no longer be working off its platform as from January, 2009. "iPoker has, following discussions with Tain, decided to remove Carlos Poker and NoIQ Poker from the iPoker Network," read the statement. "The said card rooms will be removed from the iPoker Network liquidity from January 24th, 2009."
Carlos Poker, owned by Parabol Limited, is licensed in the United Kingdom, while Flop Group Limited is said to own NoIQ Poker.
iPoker Network is one of the largest conglomerates of online poker sites from all around the globe, outdone only by Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars in terms of the average volume of cash game players. The iPoker Network does not accept players from the United States.
The removal of these two sites will not leave the iPoker Network void of poker rooms, to say the least. The network currently boasts membership of some of the top poker rooms in the industry, including Betfred Poker, Titan Poker, Bet 365 and Paddy Power Poker.
The network also boasts plenty of promotions throughout the year, the latest being the European Championship of Online Poker (ECOOP). The network also runs regular buy in tournaments that award prizes of up to $300,000 at a time.
The iPoker Network also feeds popular land based poker events, including the Asian Poker Tour and the EC Poker Tour in Salzburg.
