World Poker Classic Hots Up
|
Live Update From The Bellagio... The biggest tournament on the World Poker Tour, the Five Star World Poker Classic with a buy-in of $25,000 and a stakes value in excess of $15 million, is heating up on Day 4. Freddy Deeb leads a star-studded field including Chan, Brunson, and Hellmuth in one of the most important poker tournaments in the world.
The top 100 players cash in this event, and at the time of writing they are down to the last 102 players! This is the bubble so all the tables are going hand for hand.
Jan Sorensen has just been eliminated in 102nd place by Roland DeWolf.
The leaderboard is full of star poker pro power. Freddy Deeb leads with David Williams (second in the 2004 World Series Of Poker Main Event) currently in the familiar bridesmaid role. Men The Master is lying fourth, just ahead of Evelyn Ng. Johnny Chan is 6th in chips and Doyle Brunson is 7th!
Other big names that are still in the running to win the 2006 World Poker Classic include Phil Hellmuth, Dustin Neverwin Woolf, Erick Lindgren, and online poker star Carl Olson ("Colson10" online).
