World Poker Tour Links with My Space
|
October 25 - Online poker has become so part of the mainstream that it is infiltrating into every type of media available today.
The latest merger between popular media and online poker comes with the news that the social networking site, My Space has teamed with World Poker Tour Enterprises to create the very first fully integrated poker site for My Space users.
WPTE and My Space aim to bring users and players a one stop shop for all their poker needs, including information, tips, video footage of popular tournaments and news. In keeping up with the internet networking theme, the new site - Club WPT - will also carry player profiles and aims to create a buzzing e-community through the channel.
Naturally, My Space users will also be able to play poker at Club WPT and the site will run a free multi player game that will encourage players to compete against one another for exciting 24/7 poker action.
The founder, president and Chief Executive Officer of World Poker Tour Enterprises, Steve Lipscomb, commented on the new venture between My Space and WPTE and said: "Poker and social networking have separately reached and engaged people around the world in ways like nothing we've seen before. As poker continues to see major growth across the globe, this partnership meets the demand for a poker experience that appeals to enthusiasts at all levels by connecting consumers in one unique, fully integrated gaming and entertainment environment."
According to the site, Club WPT will appeal to players from all walks of life, and at any given skill level.
