July 16 - Scotty 'Prince of Poker' Nguyen, one of the world's best known
professional poker players known for his trademark Vietnamese accent and
continual use of the word 'baby', made it to the final 36 players of the 2007 WSOP Main Event, before he was eliminated earlier today (Monday July 16, 2007).
Finishing two places shy of the final table, Scotty Nguyen had the full support of the
crowd behind him as he started the day with a stack of 15 500 000 chips.
Unfortunately all too soon the charismatic Nguyen endured three bad beats in a
row to end his 2007 World Series of Poker hopes.
However, the Prince of Poker did not go away empty-handed as his 11th
place earned him a not-too-shabby $476 926 payday. In 1998 Scotty Nguyen earned himself
the kudos of winning the 1998 WSOP Main Event and tidy $1 000 000 in prize
money.
Over the years he has earned himself an impressive 4 bracelets at the World
Series of Poker and during his career has earned over $7 500 000 in prize money.
Throughout the event, the intense concentration shown by the players was often
interrupted by calls of 'we love you, Scotty'.
Online Poker Insider will let you know when the final results are in for the
