 July 22 - Experience at online poker sites brought many of the top players in this year's World Series of Poker tournament to great heights, and this could definitely be seen in the final nine contestants left standing, known as the November Nine.
These nine players will battle it out for the nearly $9 million in first prize money in November this year when they return for the ultimate poker competition at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The November Nine have been listed as follows:
Jonathan Duhamel, John Dolan, Joseph Cheong, John Racener, Matthew Jarvis, Filippo Candio, Michael Mizrachi, Cuong Nguyen and Jason Senti.
Here is a short bio on each:
Senti - 25 years old; plays online poker under the PBJaxx avatar; has good tournament skills.
Nguyen - 37 year old native Vietnamese, US resident. Has played poker mainly with friends and has cashed in a live tournament only once before.
Mizrachi - Known as "The Grinder" is the most well-known of out the nine, with over $8 million in winnings under his career belt..
Candio - 26 year old Italian, winner of Italian Poker Tour event in 2009.
Jarvis - 26 year old Canadian, mainly online player.
Racener - Has earned over $1 million in online poker winnings and has featured at several WSOP final tables.
Cheong - Born in South Korea and currently residing in the US, Cheong plays at Full Tilt Poker.
Dolan - 24 year old player US player who begins the competition in second chip position.
Duhamel - Commands the largest chip position with nearly 66,000,000 chips, despite his young age of only 22 years.
