September 4 - The trend of signing up industry celebrities to promote online
poker sites continues, with Bet365 Poker announcing a new contract deal
with Jesper Hougaard, the 2008 World Series of Poker bracelet winner.
Hougaard will reveal himself to Bet365 poker players through a personal blog
that he will write in conjunction with the site, and will provide poker fans
with his favorite strategies and tips, as well as a more personal insight into
the life of a 24 year old poker professional on a day to day basis.
Jesper Hougaard will represent the site by entering some of the toughest land
based competitions in the industry, including the European Poker Tour circuit.
In addition, he will participate in exciting online bounties every two weeks
hosted by Bet 365 Poker.
Hougaard, who started off his life as a coach for the Danish National Table
Tennis team, was introduced to poker on a friendly basis while still in school
and discovered that he had a talent for the game after he started winning $40 a
night. Prodded on by his friend and famous poker professional Gus Hansen,
Hougaard soon switched to online poker and his rise on the internet can only be
described as meteoric.
The professional poker player grabbed headlines at this year's World Series
of Poker tournament when he took first prize in the $1,500 No Limit Hold 'em
event with a $610,000 prize pool and taking home the prestigious bracelet and
title.
Players wishing to play against Jesper Hougaard or other members of the
Bet365 Poker team should head down to the site to see where the action is. This
site regularly runs amazing promotions, such as its upcoming $2.5 million
guaranteed prize pool event.
With other attractions such as its Monster Tournaments and lucrative VIP
program, Bet365 continues to make an impact on the poker industry.
