Zeejustin Calls Men The Master A Cheat - 03-11-08
|
Author: Marc
March 11 - It is hard to beat that old idiom from Don Quixote, which eventually made it into the English language as "the pot calls the kettle black", but we have a new contender in the always interesting world of poker. The author this time is Justin Bonomo, better known by his online poker name Zeejustin, and he has accused Men The Master Nguyen of cheating at the Commerce.
For those of you who don't know Zeejustin's story he is one of the young guns of online poker, a true and phenomenal talent, who ran into a poker cheating scandal of his own a while back. This was a couple of years ago when Bonomo was caught multi-accounting on quite a grand scale. He was 20 and has since repented. Zeejustin is banned from Party Poker and Poker Stars as well. He lost over $100,000 at Party alone when two of his accounts ended up at the same MTT table.
Here's the thing though. Zonomo was repentant, and has been welcomed back into the poker community. He did not see the error of his ways before he was caught mind you, they hardly ever do, but at least he seemed sorry about it after the fact, which is all you can hope for these days. He seems like a good kid who got very cocky, cheated, and may have turned over a new leaf. He seems like a better person than JJProdigy - at least one can say that.
Now the story has plenty of merit and you can read about it in detail at Justin's blog. The stories of Men The Master Nguyen's horrible behavior at the poker table are legion. This is a guy who slow-rolls, gives players backing and then makes them fold if they play at the same table as him and they're in a hand together, and who abuses dealers and the crowd alike.
The latest tale is that a staked player was forced to lay down a big pot to Men The Master after the usual signal - once Men raises you and you're one of his horses you must lay down the hand regardless of what you're holding.
It's one thing to forgive someone for their transgressions, but does that same guy have to become the zealous finger-wagger? He should just hold his tongue, say "there for the grace go I" and get on with the business of playing poker. He doesn't have to be the one who blogs about it, leave that stuff to Daniel Negreanu, who has also accused Men of being a cheating scumbag and actually has the credibility to make that claim.
