CardSpike Poker Icing The Cake Network
|
Author: Renee
January 5 - The reputable Cake Poker network is yet to officially comment on the case of CardSpike, the online poker room that has been accused of holding back payment to nearly all its affiliates and some of its rakeback players.
CardSpike poker has been working off the Cake Poker network since the summer and started off well enough. However, very soon it was clear that things were not going very well for the poker site and complaints about payment can be traced back as far as November last year.
In the meantime, there have been reports that CardSpike has contacted players to notify them that payment will take place within six to eight weeks, despite the fact that its site specifically says three to five weeks.
Online poker forums are abuzz with comments and complaints about CardSpike, although the general consensus is that Cake Poker should do something about the matter.
Affiliates have been stung badly by CardSpike Poker, if the list of complaints on the Poker Affiliate Arbitration Request forum is anything to go by. Several of these affiliates are demanding that CardSpike pay up to players that have not seen a cent in over three months!
On December 12th, a spokesman for CardSpike, known only as Peter, replied on the Poker Affiliate Program's website: "Payments will be going out over the next few days. We will have every affiliate paid by the end of the week."
On December 18th, Peter wrote again: "I would like to make everyone aware that payments will be going out over the course of today and tomorrow."
As predicted, none of these promises were kept and PAP has since revoked its endorsement of CardSpike. Nonetheless, the poker room still proudly displays the PAP logo on its website, despite calls from PAP for everyone to "remove their links and cease promotion of this product."
